Join us to explore the art of pyrography, where you'll learn the fundamentals of transforming plain wood into stunning works of art. Great for someone who loves to draw, the smell of campfire, or putting together a charcuterie board, wood burning is beginner-friendly even if you’ve never doodled in your life!
In this 2-hour class, you will:
- Explore the essential techniques of wood burning, including the effects from five different wood burning tips
- Discover how to create shading and writing to create your own custom design
- Learn how to transfer your design onto your board before burning
- Understand the characteristics of various wood types and the best wood to use for pyrography
Go home with your unique burned-wood board, along with newfound skills and inspiration to continue your pyrography journey.

Marisha has always loved making things with her hands, leading to a diverse collection of crafting supplies which she loves to repurpose in creative ways. They love to practice drawing, watercolor, sewing, and using art as a meditative practice. Pyrography is a combination of activities she loved as a kid, playing with fire and carving into her wood desk (sorry parents), and it’s fun to continue exploring wood as an art medium!
