All About Bees, Plus a Honey Tasting! | January 26

Honeybees, leafcutters, and bumbles, oh my! Saving the bees is all the buzzzzzz, and rightfully so. Bees play an important role in our ecosystem, and a third of all our food depends on their pollination. Interested in keeping bees but not sure what kind is right for you? Come learn how to get started! Want to help protect the bees but don’t have a space for beekeeping? We’ll share simple ways to support our bees and talk about why not everyone needs to become a backyard beekeeper to do it.

And no bee talk would be complete without honey! We’ll set up a local honey bar so you can sample different flavors, plus the chance to taste some special comb honey. You might even learn some other fun facts, like why the color of honey is different throughout the seasons.

We’re excited to have Shavon from The Works’ team presenting this event. Shavon has been a beekeeper for 3 years now, is also a professional beekeeper for a local honeybee company and volunteer at the West Seattle Bee Garden.

Saturday, January 26, 10-11:30am

All classes take place at The Works, 151 12th Ave, unless otherwise noted. All ticket sales subject to our Terms and Conditions.
